Is NUCCA For Me?

Many may think that chiropractic services are only for those in pain, but there are many other reasons to be seeing a NUCCA spine doctor.

How Can I know If I Need NUCCA?

A chiropractic back exam will determine if you have a misaligned spine, but you also can determine whether you are likely to need chiropractic services. Body posture is changed when the spine is misaligned:

  • When lying down, one of the legs appears shorter than the other
  • While standing up, there is a high and low hip and shoulder
  • The body weight is distributed more on one foot
  • There is often a leaning of the body or a tilting of the head to one side
  • Shoes may wear unevenly

Do My Children Need NUCCA?

Children can be checked for cervical spine misalignments similar to the way adults are evaluated. They may have spinal misalignments because of in-utero constraints, birth trauma, falls, bumps on the head, or any other traumas like adults. Children generally respond very well to chiropractic services, because the misalignments have not been present for as many years and there is no spine or disc degeneration. Degenerative disc disease can complicate a childhood misalignment and make it more difficult to correct.

Chronic ear infections, stomach aches and leg cramps (growing pains) may be the first signs to appear to indicate spine problems. These may be followed by chronic respiratory problems like allergies, bronchitis and asthma. Many of the learning disorders and behavioral problems may also be related to the subluxated spine. The distress to the brain and brain stem may affect the ability to focus attention, comprehend, and process information.

Do pregnant women need NUCCA?

Pregnant mothers find that chiropractic neck adjustments improve their pregnancy and make labor and delivery easier for themselves and their babies. Adjustments also help babies to be healthier at birth. Post-birth adjustments, if needed, help newborns to thrive.
