Now that it’s April, and the first quarter of the year is past, what do your New Year’s Resolutions look like?

  • Have you fulfilled them?
  • Are you on track?
  • If so, why?
  • If not, why not?

Have you forgotten them?  It’s not too late to start over.

Don’t try to catch up; just start from today.  Take small but determined steps.  Otherwise, you may get overwhelmed and give up again.  Figure out what steps need to be done today and this week and this month to get to the end result.

Why do you want to accomplish this goal? If you don’t have enough motivation, the difficulty won’t outweigh the end result and you will never fulfill it.

Celebrate your accomplishments.  Even the small ones.  A small accomplishment is still a step in the right direction.  It will help you to build momentum toward the larger goal.

Track your progress.  How will you know what you’ve accomplished, if you don’t have a way of measuring it.  Re-evaluate your steps as time goes on (perhaps weekly or monthly) so that you can adjust your actions.  Is that goal still where you want to go?  Are you ahead or behind schedule?
