Kaiser Permanente has been advertising prevention as health care:
- Mammograms
- Exercise
- Eating well
- Yoga
- Stress Reduction
Why is Kaiser doing this?
They’ve figured out that preventing illness is much less expensive than dealing with and recovering from illness.
Despite the knowledge that illness is so costly compared to the alternative, there is very little insurance coverage for preventing sickness. Do they pay you to eat well? Take an exercise class? Hire a personal trainer or nutritionist? See your NUCCA chiropractor or other chiropractor? Do they buy you a bike?
Homeowners insurance doesn’t pay you to oil your cabinets.
Auto insurance doesn’t pay you to put oil in your car or to get it aligned.
You just know that if you don’t take care of your things, they’ll break down, get noisy and bothersome, or it will cost you more to fix them later.
The same thing happens to your body. You’ll endure pain, suffering and loss of function, if it’s not aligned properly. You can’t replace your body. You must maintain it.
So, be diligent with your:
- Nutrition
- Exercise
- Mindset – focusing on your blessings
- Spirit
- Physical alignment (this affects the above as well. Call me to ask if you don’t know how that affects the other aspects.)
